Pella – Sebastian Baugh

Can you someone close to the situation explain what happened to this kid? As like a middle-school (younger maybe) he was ranked/projected/etc. as one of the best maybe in the Midwest, beyond. He traveled all over the country with one of those hotshot AAU teams (too good for the Pella AAU circuit) He went to PC for a while, moves across town to PHS and now isn't even out for basketball as a senior. Heard he's been seen playing noon ball with some of the old guys and local legends? Fill me in...

I have know idea what the kid is doing but it sounds like you want people to put the kid down. Hard to say what his situation is, but you starting a garbage thread probably isn't going to help.

Not putting him down or fishing for such at all. Just wondering...did he just not fit in with the PHS system? Or?

Fair enough, but when you start a thread and say he used to play for a hot shot AAU team (to good to play for the Pella AAU) or now he's playing Y ball ball with the local legends, it sure sounds like your trying to put him down. Parents who go to public forums to put down kids are pathetic. If you feel the need to start a thread about the kid, just ask, what's he doing, we don't need the other garbage.

I don't know the situation but could he just be burned out of basketball?

I always wondered the same thing with Baugh. I remember years ago when he was in 8th grade, he played against South Tama at their middle school and I remember hearing all about how an 8th grader was dunking the ball. I thought it was pretty cool and thought we'd have another young phenom come out of Iowa. When I first joined Iowa Preps, that was one of the first things I did was check in on Baugh and saw he wasn't as highly touted as he once was. Was pulling for him to make an impact!

Seeen him play once was impressed and than like you said he sort of disappeared.

He played for Pella Public last year after being on the Pella Christian team previously. Unfortunately, he had some illness last year during the season which kept him from being able to participate much. Was off to a promising start to the season before the illness hit. I don't know what is going on this year or why he didn't go out for the team.
