NYC in 2020

I never minded visiting. 9/11 museum was one of the most powerful things I’ve ever seen in person. Yankee Stadium (both of them), Broadway...

Sadly, I doubt I’ll ever return.

As a young man I always assumed that I'd live there, for a while. Then again I was pretty certain that I'd rule the world so...

It's fine (or was a few years ago) for short visits but living there and subjecting yourself to the leftwing intolerance and socialism...why would anyone do that?

Actually, I had NO frigging desire at any time in my life to live in NY or any other New England/Beltway area..... about as close to ever consider living in a Yankee area was thinking Chicago might have been cool (not anymore on that either)

When you live just 70 miles from the Mason-Dixon, maybe there’s more opportunity for Yankees to get on your nerves

All of this. It was a great town to visit, although I would have never lived there just because I'm a small town kid. I went a handful of time over the years and thoroughly enjoyed it. There's so much there that you can do/eat/experience completely different things each time you go.

It is a shame because my kids want to go with us the next time we go. Don't think that trip ever happens.

NYC was a good visit and you could have a good time. That's why it a shame the pinkos have made it into a hellhole.

Longer term the Yankiness would annoy the F out of me, so hard pass on living there for any extended period. I had a couple of job opportunities, in NYC, passed on both of them. To this day I don't regret it either.

If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie
I don’t want to go
If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie
I’d just as soon stay home
If they don’t have a grand ole opry
Like they do in Tennessee
send me to hayell or New York City
It’d be about the same to me.

Yes, it's a sh@thole. Dirty, expensive, rude azz yankees, I can't think of one good thing about it... Hank was right it is hell.

If I had actually been half as smart as I thought I was when NYC sounded like a good idea, I actually would have ruled the world.

LOL, growing up as a “yankee” (although we Midwest yanks have damn little in common with East coast yanks), I’m reminded of what a polite Tennessean once said to me, “You Yankees are kinda like hemorrhoids, if you come down here to visit a little while you ain’t too bad, but if decide to stick around you get to be a real pain in the ass”.

I identify as meatloaf.

Good thing you have a badge then
