North Tama

Does anyone know if they are going 8 man or 11 man this coming fall. I had heard they were petitioning the state to go 8 man but not sure if it was ever decided. Southeast IA I think lost 4 class A teams to 8 man so going to be some traveling for some of those teams left from that district also.

Interesting, the state must have turned them down. District realignment is going to be very interesting here in a few weeks as it sounds like it will be 9 districts of 7 teams. It will be tough finding 7 teams to field with that SE district. I thought I heard Pekin was also going up to 1A along with North Linn.

I thought it was 9 dist. of 6 teams? Still going to be alot of new teams to play this year!

Yes, it will be 9 districts of 6 teams or 6 districts of 9 teams as there are 54 schools in classes 1A, 2A and 3A.

Now, if North Tama is Class A, which I would guess they are, then who knows how the IHSAA will divide up Class A. My guess would be there would still be 8 districts in Class A as they will have around 60-64 schools most likely.

Class A will be 9 districts of 7 teams, that is coming from someone on the committee.
