North - Sioux City Public Schools, Mason City, Fort Dodge, Waterloo Schools, CF, Dubuque Schools, Clinton, Ames, Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids Schools, Linn-Mar, Ankeny Schools, North Scott, Johnston and Urbandale

South - CB Schools, DMPS, Waukee, Valley, Dowling, Indianola, SE Polk, Ottumwa, Iowa City Schools, Davenport Schools, Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley, Muscatine, Burlington

Omitting schools no longer in 4A (Newton, CRX, SCH) the north-south would be pretty stark with 28 South and 10 North.

Go back to 1999, Cedar Falls Traveled to SC East for a quarterfinal game I think on a Friday- That was the "Door Opening" for the East /West Split. IC West beating Cedar Falls in the Title Game was the "Door Closing" and sealed the fate for the Playoffs as we know it now. So that would be one reason you may never see it change.

However, if SC East makes it to the Semifinals and then Finals, then that door could be opened again. So I think that going back to a normal playoff system like we had before could happen. Is there a way where we could have North,South,East and West?

I don't think this is a very good idea.

What would be a realistic change to the Playoffs, I'm asking you because you always have great ideas!

I am thinking if SC East makes it to the Finals, that's 2 trips to Cedar Falls, however both those games would be on a Friday,
however it's still a lot of miles and the 125 mile Rule would not apply to them as the Association is forcing them to travel.

Cedar Falls went to SC East on a Monday, they had beat Newton in Dome on the previous Wednesday in the early game, then would play Valley in the Semis.
