Non-District rumors

So Iowa Preps peeps, watcha hearing regarding your schools and who is on their "preferred lists" to be given to the IHSAA for non-district games?

For Roland-Story, rumor has it that there is top of the list mutual interest with South Hamilton and Nevada. And on the list, but further down is North Polk and CMB. All make sense, as they are conference mates.

On the opposite side, despite a warm rivalry, rumor has it Gilbert and R-S have decided to part ways. Those two have been in the same district I think since district football started. However Gilbert is moving up to 3A this year, and I gather both schools think "seeing other people" is the best course of action.

So what are you hearing for your schools?

Look for Waverly-Shell Rock to possibly have a matchup with Union and Mason City. Have also heard that conference rival New Hampton and former district foe Clear Lake could be possibilities as well.

Look for West Branch to continue to get together with Lisbon. Also, West Liberty could be the second game. The other possibility is another in-the-area team such as Tipton or Regina.

Look for Carlisle to pair up with Bondurant-Farrar and Perry.

Clear Lake has many possibilities for their non-district games. Mason City is probably the only for sure right now, but any of their 3A NCC foes (Algona, Webster City, Humboldt) could be options. Charles City and Waverly-Shell Rock are probably in the mix as well. Excited to see the new schedules tomorrow!
