After the SUPER foul-up in football, I guess the INA isn't doing an All-State basketball team(s) - anyone else hear of this? Word I heard was some (many several) sports editors are getting together (or did last Saturday maybe?) and formed some sort of other 'group' to present All-State? Not sure who all is involved and haven't seen anything published yet.

Anyone else with news on this?

Iowa Print Sportswriters Association or something like that. Just think of it as the exact same thing except I think the leadership is more competent. Some of the All-State selections (especially the last football one) have been BAD. I've heard the INA meetings weren't done very scientifically, just a lot of random kids being thrown on the board and never really comparing one vs. the other before voting.

This new group did one for girls. I saw it on the website of one of our local radio stations in Bethany, Mo. (northwestmoinfo.com)

It’s always been like that
