New Des Moines Schools Football Stadium

Yeah they sure do. Where an old contaminated tire business used to illegally dump toxins into the ground. Sounds like a great idea. When the business was busted for the activities they openly admitted they had been illegally dumping there for close to 30 years.

What a total waste of money. It's in a flood plain and not entirely needed. The DM school has football fields in place already. Drake is near by for any big track meet.

I really don't see how spending a bunch of money on a project like that would ever pay off. If it did, then it leaves the existing facilities under utilized.

The biggest thing I see is that it is completely unnecessary, 4 of the 5 schools already have a stadium and the 5th has the use of Drake. Williams has had upgrades and is good enough for the NAIA national champs, North's Stadium is not that old, and I don't think the fields and Lincoln and Hoover are that bad.

What they should do is take the money they've got for this new stadium and give it to Hoover, North, and Lincoln and have them renovate their stadiums. Just a thought.

This may be important:

"School officials have not studied the cost of a new stadium."
