New coach and player contact rule for 2018

Looks like coaches can have contact with hitters 10 times in the month of April. Limited to a 3 hour session. Interesting.
 
Also heard about this. I think it's great!

However, is this something that also gets pushed to the limit? You can't tell me this wasn't happening AT ALL before this...
 
Here's the deal. I know coaches were working with hitters all the time. At least now, the coaches that follow the rules will get 10 days of work with their hitters.

My question is, why is this not sent to the coaches. I know their are coaches out there that have no idea this rule has been changed.
 
The one's that DO follow the rules - Yes! This is great and will only help.

I also wondered about how people were supposed to know about this. It's basically just coaches taking other coaches word for it OR really confused coaches questioning it. Whose fault is this?

The state communicated this new policy to schools before Christmas, and was also covered at the state coaches clinic in January.
