MRC Confernece Talk

CBAL is the team to beat in the MRC. East, Heelan, and SBL all have a chance to challenge them. Anything can happen in a long season. CBAL has a legit Big Man, Good PG, and a really good shooter so that balance is what makes them tough.

MRC is DOWN this year. CBAL is probably the team to beat, but I can definitely see East challenging them for the top spot.

What makes it down this year compared to any other year? When it's all said and done I see:

AL as a top 10 4A
East at least top 12 in 4A
Heelan top 10 in 3A
SBL top 10 in 3A

4 of the 7 teams being ranked at some point does not make them down. North may be down but Heelan and SBL are better this year.

Down ? AL is loaded and features one of the best big men in the state ( Bonner ) , East is very underrated , Heelan is very young but tough and SB-L has it's best team in years. Far from down.

I'm just used to seeing a few D1 prospects in the MRC and usually a team that has a shot at the state title. Judging by the games I've seen, which is quite a few, I don't see either of those two happening. Heelan is down from where they were a few years ago. East and North are both down and have zero D1 prospects. CBAL is the only team that is up and I've never considered any CB team a threat, but I think they are the front runner to go to state. West is west and TJ is TJ. SBL is alright, but will actually be a legit contender next year. I think it's a down year compared to the last ten years. I think it will slowly rise over the next few years though. This is just one guys opinion, so don't get all butt hurt. I'm just saying what I think and all of you can have your own opinions too.

So not having one so called D1 prospect that didn't get a D1 offer makes the conference down?
The only team I really see down is North. AL, SBL, and Heelan are all better. East is about the same as they were last year. You must be a North Fan and because they are down the whole conference is down this year. The games will be much more exciting than last year. Scoring will be up across the board. Last year you 1 player over 20ppg 2nd was 16.5. This year you have 4 or 5 and many more in the teens.

You must not have read any of my comment. Sorry, I'm going to have to copy and paste a few sentences from my previous post and here they are: 1) I'm just used to seeing a few D1 prospects in the MRC and usually a team that has a shot at the state title. Judging by the games I've seen, which is quite a few, I don't see either of those two happening. - I don't see any big time players and I don't see a team that has a legit shot at winning the state championship. 2) Heelan is down from where they were a few years ago. East and North are both down and have zero D1 prospects. - Judging by Heelan's past, both players and teams, they are considerably down. I don't want to get into the previous all state players that they used to have. They often had multiple division 1 players on each team, which most likely, makes a team better! I know, it takes a while to comprehend. 3) I think it's a down year compared to the last ten years. I think it will slowly rise over the next few years though. This is just one guys opinion, so don't get all butt hurt. I'm just saying what I think and all of you can have your own opinions too. - Judging by the previous years (east, north, heelan) all have had better teams and players. I could list the all state players for each team, but I'll let you look that up yourself. Compared to the LAST TEN YEARS, the teams are down and there is really no argument. Yes, SBL and AL are both better than they have been in the past, but both very beatable. Next time, read my entire post, think about what I'm saying, then respond. You literally didn't listen to one comment I made.

YOUR FIRST POST: MRC is DOWN this year. CBAL is probably the team to beat, but I can definitely see East challenging them for the top spot. In our first post you didn't make it clear you were talking about 4-5 or 10 years ago vs. last year. We cant read your mind. MRC has never been conference with multiple D1 talents year in and year out. None the last 5 years with Woody and JC Fuller who worked hard to get there. My posts state it is not now down from last year. Which by the way had no D1 players or teams that could win state. North was 14-9 going into state and the 8th seed. You have to understand that it's only a 7 team conference with 2 3A teams so most years you won't have a title contender. But you will have a team that could win game or two in Des Moines with the right matchups. Heelan had a good run with the 3 peat the only titles the LAST 10 YEARS. The MRC is a good conference that will have teams jump up and down every few years and will have at least 2-3 All-Staters every year and sometimes a few more. I'm done posting on this subject. Hope you understand my point.

This is just one guys opinion, so don't get all butt hurt. I'm just saying what I think and all of you can have your own opinions too. - I thought I would post this one more time.
