Did Javon Middleton of Cedar Falls get hurt? I figured the only shot Cedar Falls has to beat CR Washington is to get a lot of offense/special teams play from this talented kid but I don't see his name in the box score from the last two games. Any have an idea what happened to him?

He came up limping against Waterloo East and I thought I seen him play a few downs against Senior.

He has only played in 3 of 10 games. I fail to see how he is their only shot at beating Wash. Hard to gel with a team. If my memory is correct, Cedar Falls ended their season last year.

Yes, they did. But if I remember correctly, they had a heck of a senior class led by Ross P. Wash will have the continuous clock in this one, with or without Middleton playing for CF.

You could be correct about Wash. running up the score. My only point was that I hardly think Middleton has shown that he is a huge impact player this year. I find it interesting that people give so much credit to any one player on any team.

Cedar Falls v CRW might be a dandy game. Both defeated CRJ by about the same margin (CRW 43-26 and CF 35-17), both were playing close against LinnMar until blocked punts and special plays turned the tide (for CRW in the 2nd quarter, against CF in the second half).

I think they'll have to play the game to determine a winner.

I can promise you, CF hasn't been this big an underdog since the Carlos Honore led Iowa City West 1995 team, that twice 50-pointed CF the same year. This Wash team could do the same thing, CF is still making far too many silly week 1 types of mistakes and miscues. Add to that that CF lost over 120 years-worth of coaching experience this past summer when Co-Head Coach Coach Pat Mitchell, and coaches Gene Doyle and Denny Lenth all retired. They've weaned in Brad Remmert very nicely, and I have no doubt they'll be fantastic coaches for years to come. But that is STILL a LOT of experience to have to replace. Challenges this season, frankly, should be expected.

Valid points CF_93. I guess we will find out tonight. Both teams will want it badly I'm sure.
