NW IA had 5 teams at the state tournament - 1A - MVAO & South O'Brien, 2A - Western Christian, 3A - Le Mars, 4A - Sioux City North. MVAO knocked off South O'Brien, Western lost to Pella Christian, Le Mars beat DCG and North has a tough matchup this afternoon with ICW. After today it looks like NW IA will have 2 teams left, both of which have really tough matchups in the semifinals. Western Christian was a surprise to some I think, but Pella Christian was the better team yesterday, they hit big shot after big shot to keep Western far enough apart that a comeback was just to much and they played fantastic defense in the first half to build that big lead. This could be the year when NW IA doesn't have anyone playing for a championship which according to most posters on here would make everyone happy. Should be an exciting semifinal round as there are some outstanding teams getting to matchup and play for it all. Good luck to all teams!!!
