LOL!!! McCarthy ousted!!!

I don’t like the ouster, but McCarthy bent his knee to everything the libs wanted.

One thing I will give the lib idiots credit for, when they want something they fight for it. The current Republican Party is full of pussies with a few outliers like Gaetz.

But Gaetz is a fvcking moron like MTG. Extremists are Extremists and they suck on both sides.

McCarthy gave a continuing resolution that the freedom caucus was on board with that could pass without dems. Gaetz spiked it so McCarthy would have to go back to the drawing board and propose something that would require dem support, and then Gaetz used it to bitch about McCarthy bending his knee to the left to oust him. I don’t like McCarthy either, but this does FAR more harm to republicans than good. Per usual, republicans could fvck up a wet dream and will bail out failed dem policy because they can’t get their shit together.

Exactly. McCarthy is an asshat. Gaetz is a piece of shit wearing an asshat with Trump cum stains on it. Every Dem voted with that stupid POS. That tells me more than anything.

Limiting the purse was the right play so I'll give Gaetz that much. However, as alpha mentioned, Gaetz spiked the better deal previously to score political points.

There's enough fvckery to go around here.

Also, we call out our asshats (Gaetz and McCarthy here)...while the Dems NEVER do. So yea, our asshats tend to look like bigger asshats because they universally get called on their BS.

Republicans will fvck it up for sure. It’s what they do best

Because we don't seem to stick together...and some of that is because integrity means something to us.

But yea, some of it is just about power consolidation as well.

If you're going to be crooked be all the way crooked (see DNC). If you're going to be law abiding and "for the people," be all the way for the people.

The dysfunction of the GOP is incredible.

This is the type of bs that put biden in the White House to begin with
Nobody does more damage to republicans than republicans…

oh, we have the most unpopular president and VP in modern history? Let’s push through the guy he beat in 2020 for the Republican nomination…

Oh, a majority of people across the country have more faith in the Republicans in congress to get the country back on track than democrats? Let’s stage an inner coup in the party…

Think on this, Trump is being floated as a potential Speaker replacement and there’s serious talk of Michelle my Belle Obama as the Democrat nominee (this will probably happen around November or December). She can not be beat…..period.

If she announces, it’s over. It’s sad she’ll be the same mouthpiece for her husband that Biden and his administration is, but she’ll immediately poll beating Trump by 15-20 points, and probably 5-10 against Desantis, Haley, others. Trump supporters will ignore that he has no chance, he’ll win primary, and best we can hope for is for Republicans to hold House and possibly take Senate back…

I disagree on all counts...

THIS x100000

The big problem is the Republicans don't stand for anything. They are the "we aren't Democrats" party.

It is the exact opposite of what happened during the Reagan years. Reagan did a lot of good, but he was bolstered by a DNC that was based on opposing the GOP vs an actual platform.

If the GOP agreed on a platform and stuck with it, while actually fighting and not being pvssies ($1 to @Pops Masterson ) they could move the needle significantly. Just look at the absolute trash that we see on the DNC side. Weakest candidates in my lifetime promoting dumb bullshit and we struggle to beat them because we can't pull our head out of our ass.

PS. It would force the GOP to raise the bar on some of their candidates too...which would be a welcome change as well.

You’re an optimist, I’ll give you that.
The repubs may lose b/c of the incredible massive cheating that went on in 2020 in certain locations (Milwaukee; Chicago; Allegheny, PA) and now that the dems have a playbook to cheat by... probably will happen again.

But just thinking that Michelle O'Baboon will just ride up and save the day for the dems is extraordinarily mind-blowing. This is someone that has NEVER held public office; never been an elected official; female (never been a female POTUS before); too many 'nevers' to keep going. At the end of the day, I don't see independents voting for her in the numbers she would need.

The Repubs will certainly lose if they nominate the idiot who just whines about it, and has no real plan to address it or try to beat the Dems at their own game.

Trump too had never held political office. Sure, he’s accomplished far more than she ever will in the business world, but he had no experience as a public official. Hell, her husband was just a first term senator with little national experience and little name recognition until he announced. Sadly, name recognition is more beneficial than experience in modern day politics.

I think it’s easy to underestimate the complete and total collective orgasm the media would have if she entered. I mean, if you thought they were smitten with Barry, wait until saint Michael enters! I just couldn’t imagine anyone being able to overcome the avalanche of pablum spewing forth from ALL sources……make me want to 🤮 just thinking about it.

Fromer Iowa rep Steve King was on the radio yesterday. He prefers Jordan for speaker, in his opinion Steve S. with be exactly like McCarthy.
I like Jordan, just hope they can find a pit bull like him to replace on the House Judiciary Committee.

Jim Jordan is my favorite member of congress and has been, so I do think he’d make a great Speaker. That said, I think his skill set is better suited as committee chair and grilling folks on the judiciary committee. I also don’t think Scalise is as close to McCarthy as most think. One, whoever is in the role is going to have to work with Dems on some issues at some point. Bills still have to clear the senate. Also, Scalise was a popular choice when McCarthy was having trouble getting voted in back in January. I think his medical stuff kept him from seeking it, or maybe it was out of respect for McCarthy. Either way, he would have been a popular choice then, and I do think he is someone republicans could rally around.

Nancy Mace (1st District SC) also voted him out... not sure yet, but I think I'm on board with anything she wants to vote for. Now thinking about moving to her district...

Setting her “assets” aside, I’ve heard she’s a bit of a head case.
