PGA Tour comes out of this looking terrible. Long term it’s probably good for the fans, but I don’t like the Saudis basically being in charge.

Maybe some of the rules will change. Hitting the ball into the water wouldn't be a dropped shot, but it could be a lost finger or something. Maybe the Saudis could host the annual Beheading Open as the last major.

That would be wise from the Saudi perspective, put the face of the PGA out front (got to pacify the money and market in America) and just start counting the cash.
I doubt it is good for US golf fans….fewer tournaments in US with big name draw as they go oversees. Majors won’t be affected, but many other PGA matches will probably die on the vine
