Congrats to the Little Hawkeye Conference this year. Out of the 7 teams in the conference, 4 made it to substate final with 3 moving on to state (Pella Christian, Pella, and DCG). Is a tough conference year in and year out. Look out for Norwalk in years to come as they have an insane amount of size and talent in the underclassmen. They lose the 6'10" center but have 6'8", 6'7", 6'7", and 6'6" underclassmen waiting in the wings along with a freshman guard who started in the substate game last night.
Pella Christian got a tough draw in first round at state with Western Christian. They will have an uphill battle, but PC has really improved as the year has gone on. I saw on a different thread that WC size would bother PC. It may, but PC is used to playing big teams (Norwalk and DC for example).
Pella also got a tough draw with Cedar Rapids Xavier. This should be a great game. I have not seen Xavier play but it sounds like they like to get up and down the court and are, obviously, a great scoring team. They have played a tough schedule and will be very well prepared for Pella. Not to many teams press and run like Pella, so should be a very fun game to watch. If you haven't seen Pella play, they go 10 deep and are extremely athletic. They don't overwhelm you with size, at all, but they wear you down. Just about everybody is a 3 point threat as well. Entertaining style of basketball.
DCG and LeMars should be an excellent game as well. DCG is big and tough. I enjoy watching them play. They will grind you inside but also have athletic guys that run the break well. I haven't seen LeMars, but sounds like they are very talented.
