AS part of the classifications there was a list of schools that dont have xc listed. Including several schools that were above 150 students. Has there been budget cuts going on or something? I realize there isnt a great deal of money made in the sport but for those that have ran it, its one of the most rewarding sports out there.

It's likely those schools just don't have the participation numbers to justify having the sport. If the school has less than 10 kids out, it's tough to continue offering it.
The reality is that some kids would rather be out for football and sit the bench than run CC.
CC is great because it's a relatively cheap sport to fund because it doesn't require maintaining facilities or equipment. The coach is the biggest expense followed by traveling.
