lets talk 8 man

I am an eastern Iowa guy so I can only speak to this part of the state. Don Bosco will be good again, Central Elkader will be very solid, HLV is good. It will be interesting to see what happens with a few teams no longer in 8 man, and a few new faces to 8 man. Can't wait for the 29th. Is it here yet??!!

The west is definitely going to be tough this year. I've got Fremont-Mills winning it all, but Exira and Glidden-Ralston should both be very tough, and East Mills is a wild card; they lost quite a bit of talent, but the drop from Class A eliminates a few of those holes. Boyer Valley and Harris-Lake Park are teams to watch, too, IMO.

As for the east, I think Don Bosco, HLV, Central Elkader and Janesville are a cut above the rest. Springville could make noise, though. I think Cody Blake is going to have a big year now that he's going to get the lion's share of carries (not that Nissen shouldn't have gotten every one of his carries last year).

I said East Mills is a wild card. They're dropping down, which never seems to hurt, but they also lost a very big chunk of their talent from a year ago. How they'll transition into 8-man while also breaking in a lot of new starters who are replacing last year's studs is a storyline worth following this fall. If those players step in well, then they could emerge as the team to beat.
