I believe any discussion concerning the fate of the so-called “dreamers” or their now law abiding (after they broke the law entering) “illegal alien” (oops, perhaps I just broke the law), parents is a complete NON STARTER if it doesn’t, at a minimum, address 1) Effective border security and 2) Enforcement of employer compliance with legal payroll laws (I.e., found employing an illegal and there will be significant consequences).
