is the CIML weak this year?

Surprised previously second ranked Dowling lost to a 3A team, CR Xavier. Then again, all of Xavier's losses have been to MVC schools which has historically been the powerhouse of 4A Basketball. Is that indicative that it might be like 2013 where the CIML goes 0-4 or whatever it was to eastern schools in the tourney?

Even though the CIML went 0-fer in 2013, if you remember Dowling gave IC West a real run in the first round that year. The CIML has some very good teams this year that can compete with anyone in the state (Waukee, Dowling, Hoover and Ankeny Centennial). As with most years, anytime you're dealing with 17 and 18 yr old kids, anyone can beat anyone on any given night. The last time I remember there being a dominate team in the state that I didn't think anyone else had a chance to win against them was the Ames teams with Barnes and McDermott.
