From what I've seen of Girres, yes, move them up. They are predictable ofensively (KEY on Girres) but still, that should lead them pretty far unless somebody else has a stout defense that tackles well.

TP 15,

Here would be my Top 10. My top 5 I have confidence in my order, after that it gets a little muddy. Lenox and FM is this week I believe which will tell us more about those teams, HLV Bosco is this week as well. GR really hasn't played anyone that can even come close to challenging a middle of the pack team. When they play CR-B they won't get the best challenge from them without Evans in the lineup so they may fly through the regular season not really knowing how good they are for better or for worse and won't know until the 3rd round probably. I'm on the east side so won't see them either. Time will tell.

1.) Newell-Fonda 5-0 (Previous: #1)
2.) Glidden-Ralston 4-0 (Previous: #2)
3.) MMC 4-0 (Previous: #5)
4.) Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire 4-1 (Previous: #9)
5.) Central Elkader 5-0 (Previous: #7)
6.) Don Bosco 3-0 (Previous: #4)
7.) HLV 5-0 (Previous: #3)
8.) Fremont-Mills 5-0 (Previous: #8)
9 or 10) Janesville 4-0 (Previous: #6)
9 or 10) Lenox 5-0 (Previous: Not Rated)

Probably the most accurate one I have seen so far. Teams 1-3 are pretty interchangeable at this point as all three have been impressive so far. I think GTRA stands alone at 4. I would have my 5-10 a little differently though but not much:
5.) Don Bosco
6.) HLV
7.) Fremont Mills
8.) Central Elkader
9.) Jamesville
10.) Lenox/Exira-EHK

Lenox and Exira have been nothing but impressive so far rolling everyone that has stepped in front of them thus far. Lenox will have a tough one this week against a very solid East Mills team that almost knocked off Fremont Mills last week. Exira wont have a challenge until the following week when they go to Newell Fonda which will most likely be the game that determines the #1 team in that district. Either team I feel could be deserving of that #10 spot in my eyes.

I've seen HLV twice this year. How they play Friday against DB will solidify my thoughts on them. I think DB wins by 3 TD's.

Eastern Iowa is gonna come down to Janesville, Central Elkader, DB and HLV. One of them will likely get matched up with a team from the west again like DB did last year. Almost has to be DB or Janesville because of geography.

Gonna be fun watching all this play out the rest of the year.

Really questioning how good Central Elkaders defense is. Surrendering 34 points to Springville then 46 points to Midland. HLV held Springville to 3 points and Don Bosco held them to just 6 points.

Midland put up 32 point and 46 points respectively against HLV and Central Elkader along with scoring on the second play from scrimmage in a monsoon against Don Bosco. A game in which they would have surely scored more had it been any other night. You may not want to be too critical of those numbers vs. Midland.

Central Elkader had defensive breakdowns against both teams that allowed for some touchdowns. Springville was healthy going into and during the game against Elkader, they have not been since, so their running game was at full stength that night and Blake/Hoogeland ran hard.

Elkader scored on 9 of 13 possessions against Midland. Ran for 567 yards.

Yes the defense gave up 451 passing yards and struggles to get off the field on 3rd down but also had 3 INT's. 2 of them on the final 2 poss for Midland and had 3 4th down stops during the game and a big one late that killed any momentum that Midland had. The Martens kid can throw, 2 good receivers in Harms and Paulsen and he got rid of the ball quick enough that he didn't take many hits at all. I am sure they will do something different if they were to meet again or if they played another passing team such as Janesville. Other than Midland and Janesville, nobody throws the ball that much.

Midland will be a team next year that will be tough. Lot's of juniors on the roster.

Elkaders defense also has only 3 returning starters from last year so they still have some guys finding out how it really works.

If Springvilles running game was at full strength against Elkader and Blake/Hoogeland combined had 28 carries for 179 and 2 touchdowns then Elkaders defense must not compare to Boscos who they played a week before and held them for a combined 18 carries for 50 yards and 0 touchdowns. In fact Bosco held Springville to only 69 rushing yards the whole night. I think its a possibility that Bosco has an even better defense than last years.

Don't totally disagree with that JS33. I think Elkaders offense can outscore them though. DB doesn't have a passing game. Elkader when their QB Ehrhardt finally gets healthy, will actually be a complete offense with multiple running weapons, a QB that can run and a great passing game.

I think that would be a great matchup in the playoffs in the quarterfinals, at Elkader.

Bosco is a better passing team than most know yet. They just don't throw when they don't need to. Passer rating of 349 ( realizing they only threw 9 times with that QB ). Bagby has been a passing machine on JV the last couple of years. It's hard for a coach to keep chucking it when his team is up by 30 - 40 pts . Bagby threw 5 balls for 3 TD's vs English Valley, and they were on the money. His big line gives him plenty of time as well. Should be some good action come playoff time.

Not for sure. I've heard a couple of concussions when kids went over backwards and hit their heads hard on the ground. Looked like one knee or ankle maybe. Not positive though.

It seems like you only post irrelevant stats about bosco I don't think some people realize that the game if football is more than just "stats" any given team can lose on any given time, what good are stats going to do when the time comes when you are in a dog fight, stats won't win you that game, playing tough being physical and going hard to the whistle every play if a team does that, stats don't mean a thing, not bashing on bosco or anything no doubt in my mind they are a top team in there class right now I am just stating my opinion.

It seems like this thread is just full of Bosco coaches and players talking their team up it seems like they are the only ones with anything to say about bosco.

There are no coaches on here posting from any relevant team. And of course fans brag up their school, that's what fans do.
