Good match ups coming up for Pella with Carlisle then Newton(ND). Should find out how good Pella really is or is not those two weeks.

Some great games coming up the next few weeks to help clarify the pecking order in Central Iowa. Ballard at Carlisle, Newton at Gilbert this week. Next week, Newton at Ballard, Gilbert at Bondurant-Farrar, Pella at Carlisle. Week after that we have Pella at Newton.

That is a tough three game stretch for Newton. Will be interesting to see how they come out. Newton's defense was very suspect last year, but performing better this year. They will be challenged by Gilbert's running game. Should be a great game!

I'm also not agreeing with ranking Newton but not Ballard. Both teams are 4-0 but there is a substantial difference in who those wins have been against. Newton has yet to face a team with a winning record and the combined records of their opponents to date is 3-13.

Team 10, I think you might be a bit premature in thinking that Newton and Carlisle will test Pella on how good they really are. I think each is in need of a substantial win. Carlisle has at least faced 1 opponent with a winning record (DCG) but lost in a close match. Pella did beat DCG 45-14 so I'm not seeing what you are in Carlisle expected to give Pella a push.

As others have pointed out though, it should work itself out since Carlisle must face Ballard this week prior to facing Pella and Newton suddenly has a steep increase in their schedule as well.

ghost80 if you look what I said I didnt say test or push. Only we will find out how good Pella really is. If Pella pounds both then maybe they are as good as advertised but if they struggle to win with either then might now be as good. I really dont see Pella losing to either but like I said in another post on here Pella historically has struggled with Carlisle. Pella should (if they are really #1 or #2) win both games by 3 scores.
