My question is what are we doing with the rankings? Listing who deserves it based on the season they are having or are we basing it on who we think is the best? Can't argue with your rankings based on who deserves it based on what they have done this season but if I'm ranking based on who I think the best is I'd go something like this for my top 5.

1. WDM Dowling
2. WDM Valley
3. Bettendorf
4. Waukee
5. CRW

For the record I'm an East Side of the state guy.

Whoever else... You can't seariously rank a team that lost by nearly 40 ahead of a undefeated team that has shown a lot in the last 3 games in CRW.

I think Dowling is the best team in the state and was highly motivated when they played Waukee. I'm actually a CRW grad but I just don't see them hanging with the best in the West.

Luke, I like the balance between the western and eastern side of the state with your rankings.

Until proven otherwise, the western side of the state is better than the eastern side of the state in Class 4A football. That stated, it is a mess as to who is the best team in the western side of the state. The western side of the state deserves seven teams in the Top 10 rankings, but Bett and Wash probably deserve to be ranked #1 and #2.

Iowa City West and CR Xavier are pretty much the bridge between best in the West and best in the East. Iowa City vs. Bettendorf will be an interesting game to assess compared to CRW and Valley against them.
