Find out what some of the top players in the state are saying about the football season now!
Q&A with Denver athlete Ethan Schoville
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“We started off fast, but we are still working on the details because they are important to beating good teams.”
Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“So far I am relatively pleased with my play, my coaches made the decision to keep me off defense in order to stay fresh to run the ball late in the 4th quarter and that has benefited me even though I miss playing defense.”
How do you feel your team has played?
“My team has lots to prove, we have a record of 6-1 and we didn’t play up to our potential against our most recent matchup DNH. But we have a lot of talent and if we fix the small details I believe we can be great.”
What do you feel your team can improve on?
“My team can improve on not having one person take a play off because those are the plays we are so close to breaking and those details like blocking downfield and doing your job every single play will separate us from other teams that are our caliber.”
What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“After being punched in the mouth by Dike I think we realized that we aren’t as great as we thought we are so we need to stay hungry and focus on becoming one unit rather than 11 individuals.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I have been pleased, have had lots of success, but cannot do it without the help of my teammates, I can’t be ranked in the state without the 10 other guys I work as a unit with.”
How do you feel your team has played?
“Our team has played exceptionally well, we are a great team with great chemistry, it is time to put the pieces together and realize we can start to take down bigger teams.”
What do you feel your team can improve on?
“We talk about it all the time, 100% effort on every play. If we do that we will turn from a good to a great football team.”
What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Again, giving great effort and building a championship mindset. We are playing for the playoffs for the first time in a very long time, and we need to play with that chip on our shoulder to get there.”

Q&A with Fort Dodge quarterback Connor Carver
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Season is going great. We've had a few bumps in the road but we learned and we’re past that now.”
Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I wouldn’t say I’ve been pleased, I’ve played decently but I have a ton of room to improve.”
How do you feel your team has played?
“We’ve worked our butts off. Our defense has been playing phenomenal and they still haven’t played their best game. The offense has a way to go but once we click we’ll be hard to beat.”
What do you feel your team can improve on?
“With our offense we’ve just got to clean a few things up especially from my end and the defense has some tiny things they could work on, but they're doing great.”
What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Being consistent and starting fast are big keys for us this year, especially getting into the last part of the season.”
