Iowa City West vs. WDM Valley

West leads in third 41- 27. West in championship game six of last seven years. Valley making it closer. DM announcers all excited as it gets to six. Could Valley repeat as champ? In fourth, West up by 5, with some serious foul trouble. Connor playing very well and leads all scorers. Getting banged up, though. Every rebound seemingly going to Connor McCaffery. West up by 9 with 4 minutes left in game. IHSSN announcers literally cheering for Valley. West running away at the end. Connor McCaffery 26 points and about 15 rebounds. Announcers never did give the score(!), but IC West wins big for their 7th state championship. McCaffery player of game and captain of all-tournament team. Score was 64- 50, according to IHSAA site..

IHSSN announcers are an embarrassment to the state tournament. IC West played very well so well coached.

My stats on McCaffery's performance came from what the IHSSN announcers said on the radio stream, including "20 points in the second half, etc." Okay, Connor had 19 for the game. I almost hate to post stats I hear, read about or see in the paper, because they are so often wrong!
