When I was in college there was nothing like they have now. I would have been all over a bass fishing team.

My days of having my ass jerked around 75-100 miles offshore are gone. Started in the late 60s and quit in the early 90s. Sold my boat and house on the Terry Cove in Orange Beach. Very expensive habit.

I was active and on the board of Mobile Big Game Fishing Club for many years. As a matter of fact, I built the MBGFC Clubhouse at Orange Beach Marina.

Yeah when surf fishing in the Gulf I’ve had to keep an eye out for pelicans on numerous occasions.

Not uncommon to catch a pelican while surf fishing. Most of the guy's that fish lots carry a large towel just for that purpose. Once they get into your line and you get them close enough you throw towel over head and bring it to shore so you can remove line from it. Majority of time it is just tangled in line with no hook penetration .
