Individual team pairings released Friday, Feb. 8. What do you think of all the substate pairings? In 4A, as usual, the top two teams in each of the eight substates get byes, and the bottom four teams play on Feb. 18. In 3A there are eight teams in each substate, as usual, and the top seeds mostly get the home court for the first two rounds. The substate finals are usually at a large regional gym. I predict most (not all) of the top favorites in 4A will advance, but 3A will be a donnybrook of "upsets" because there are so few really powerful teams in 3A this year. (In my humble opinion.) A more charitable way of phrasing it would be "there are about twenty even teams in 3A this year, with just a few standouts, like Norwalk and Clear Lake. Let's hear from your area.
