I saw Solon lost 9 straight games before District Playoffs

What happened there? I don't think I can recall a team going on a slide like that to end their regular season and then making it to state. Were guys hurt/suspended during that run? Did Solon play out of their minds in the playoffs? I am curious.

District pairing were not that strong, and Mt. Vernon played the worst game of their lives in the sub-state final, while Solon played the best game of their lives. Mt. Vernon had beat them by almost 20 and 30 (with the 30 pointer being 2 weeks previous). You know what they say, its hard to beat a team 3 times in a season.

I saw that they got waxed by Mt. Vernon and then beat them by 7 in their third and most important meeting. I was completely underwhelmed by Solon. They looked like a 1A team yesterday. Props to them for making it. Again, I just can't ever recall a team going on a 9 slide to end their regular season and somehow making state.

Well Xavier was on a six game slide, but due to the schedule they play I could see them doing that at some point, but I agree that a team that predominantly plays 3A schedule has to have the stars align for this to happen.

True about Xavier, but I guess I didn't want to compare those two because Xavier is a pretty talented bunch. Not to take away from Solon, but they honestly wouldn't beat any of the remaining 1A teams.

The only silver lining is that by Solon winning it pushed the Pella vs. Xavier game to the Semis, where it should be.

MOC coach was right about seeding. Everyone knows Wahlert is much better than top seed Chairton and Spirit Lake as a 3 seed really !!!
