I wonder if they have a graphic showing the increase in number of people who caught Covid versus the much more contagious variants And number of shots. Of course the variants and number of shots and time go together I wonder what the whole picture would be if it that plus the fact that the variant, while more contagious, results in a much less dangerous form of the disease. It would be nice to have the entire picture.

I’ve worked in just about every hospital in the southeast, most of Florida, and some in NC/SC. I’m very data-driven. I saw early on what this shitshow was going to become, and without sounding like a pompous asshole, I was right.

I’ve worked in just about every hospital in the southeast, most of Florida, and some in NC/SC. I’m very data-driven. I saw early on what this shitshow was going to become, and without sounding like a pompous asshole, I was right.

Well, I don’t know anything really technical about mask to prevent disease but I know a lot about flow thru a filter which has a tortuous path which is what the mask is. When you breathe outgoing thru a mask you are breathing thru a tortuous path. It significantly reduces the amount of virus expelled like down to less than 1% if designed correctly. This would significantly reduce anyone spreading it.

The problem is that when you breath in if even 1 virus gets thru you are likely infected. So while it significantly reduces the spread it is not as effective preventing someone from getting the virus because of the small amount you need to be infected. There is no way you can accurately say how much they prevent infection by the significant amount of virus it reduces from transmission but it has to be significant.
