Basically - BillDs rationalization from about 2007 that LSU didn’t really benefit from Sabans tenure. It was more from being geographically fortunate - lying in the corridor of universities in areas with great high school talent. His football “corridor “ was obviously Texas, LA, MS, AL, gA, FL. The flaw in that logic was that LSU didn’t do shit between 1957 and 2003.

Same logic applies to basketball in the Midwest.

This State Produces The Most NFL Players
  • Texas- 211.
  • California- 149.
  • Florida- 149.
  • North Carolina- 121.
  • Alabama- 109.
  • Pennsylvania- 106.
  • Ohio- 104.
  • Michigan- 103.
Rather surprising AL 24th most populous is #5. The others make sense, 🐱’s in NY, IL &…..GA!

The south produces the most NFL Players Per Capita. I think the top 5 is

1) Georgia
2) Louisiana
3) Mississippi
4) Alabama
5) Florida

Unstoppable force (Iowa offense) meets Unmovable object (Auburn defense)... 1 point game. You pick.
It’s in Birmingham….might as well be a home game for you! I’ll go against the line and take the Hawks by 3.

Looking at Iowa’s resume, how’d they get in the tournament as an 8 seed? Their resume puts them as more of an 11/NIT team.

I like AU in this one, if they can shoot halfway decent from the outside.

But in all seriousness, let’s compare 3 teams

Team A
RPI - 82
NET - 39
Kenpom - 35
4-7 vs Q1 Opponents

Team B
RPI - 66
NET - 49
Kenpom - 50
4-8 vs Q1 Opponents

Team C
RPI - 69
NET - 43
Kenpom - 38
6-12 vs Q1 Opponents

One of those three teams is an 8 seed, one was in a play-in game, and one was left out of the tournament.

Compared to two of the other 8 seeds

Team A
RPI - 30
NET - 21
Kenpom - 20
4-10 vs Q1 Opponents

Team B
RPI - 15
Net - 23
Kenpom - 19
4-4 vs Q1 Opponents

Hey now, you’re arguing with logic, we’re just happy to be in….regardless of seed.😏
