Does anyone have access to a box score or stats from the Hempstead-Wahlert game last week? The Telegraph-Herald is behind a paywall and the Hempstead staff is (once again) lax in getting anything into Quikstats.

All I need is Hempstead's total yards rushing and passing for that game, if anybody has those. Thanks in advance.

I threw the paper out, but I was there and Hempstead ran on almost every play and had somewhere close to 300 yards rushing. I think they attempted only six passes for about 45-50 yards at most. Basically just wore down a smaller opponent.

How do you see the Senior - Hempstead game playing out? Both had very similar outcomes against Wahlert. Just from what I have heard Senior has a pretty good passing game and the running game is coming along. They are probably more dynamic on offense but Senior's defense has been inconsistent.

Hi srams21. I posted a reply yesterday, but I guess my computer ate it. Anyway, I see it as a good game. Senior has surprised me a little and I think they are better than advertised this year. Hempstead is about as I thought-- a rugged line and speed in the backfield. I think that Senior has more size in the line than the Mustangs, and the Rams backfield is bigger and more mobile than I predicted. I like junior Lee Bonifas at quarterback for Senior. He moves well on the run and is an accurate passer. I think it'll be close game when they meet, with maybe a slight edge to Senior, from what I have seen. Hempstead does have a tough running game and little Zenner doesn't go down easily. However, the bottom line is that neither team, through two games, has played exactly stellar competition. Muscatine is a little above very average, Wahlert has no depth against larger schools and lasts about two and half quarters before the floodgates open, and West Waterloo was beaten pretty soundly by 3A Waverly-Shell Rock. This weekend, Prairie will be the toughest team Senior has faced so far, and I think that Hempstead prevails over East Waterloo.
