This is an interesting situation, how they had their head coach step aside for the old coach. I know in the Sioux City paper he said that the only place he would leave Morningside for was back to Heelan. But with East High having their Head Coach position open you wonder if they were making a play on him and Heelan didn't want that to happen.

I have no information on this but I am just wondering.

It appears that one of the provisions for Roger returning was that Steffen remain on the staff as defensive coordinator, where, unlike his stint at head coach, he was successful.
