Is it true that there are a lot of Marshalltown's better players that are going to open enroll at semester because they are frustrated with the way their season went? Heard a rumor at Quik Star yesterday.

Yes rumors are true. We are going to pick up a QB, RB and 3 WR's for sure, and at Class A these guys will be all-state by season's end.

The whole team scored 44 points on the season. 7 TD's. With 40 kids on the roster they should have done better than that. They need to really commit to the off-season program, assuming they have one, if they want to turn it around. I doubt GMG is going to have a couple D1 football players just roll through, so their only real shot is one class busting their butts every day in the off season that will translate to a couple wins and convince everybody else to buy into the program too. They're not going to be in the district title hunt, or even playoff race, doing whatever they are doing now.

My message as a coach would be simple. 10 years from now when people are talking about GMG, be the guy/group that worked hard everyday and truly turned the program around. It may not show up in the win/loss column when right away, but it will set a standard for the next group.

I truly wish GMG luck in the future.
