to old system in qualifying for state is what i heard today.
Which i think is a very good move.

This would be the best thing for girl's track and field. The system wasn't broke, so leave it alone.
BigFriday, How legit is your source on this? ...... because last month the State proposed the new system to be the same as what it was last year except they were going to use the 16th best time as the standard, which is still bogus....and the advisory committee voted on it and approved it. I wrote a letter a month ago and sent it to each board member urging them to go back to the old system for the girls and gave them specific stats. This would be great news if true.

My source is real legit and yes you're right on the top 16 thing.They decide that wasn't going to help much at the end of the day.
I'm real sure the boys are going to the girls system also.

In a unanimous vote, The Board of Control voted 7-0 yesterday to go back to the old way of state qualifying for the girls. For ex: Class 4A is top 2 from each region and then the next best 12 performances that night. Great news for track and field for Iowa High School Girls!!!!
