Not defending anyone here but listen up. I spent LOT of time on Maui and Oahu. I’ll probably go there 3-4 this year as we have a project there. Any others who have spent time on the islands can confirm the same.
The Hawaiian island chain is one of the most geologically active zones on the planet. l have seen a shit load of emergency sirens along highly populated coasts. There are signs around the beaches and <500 ft elevation sea level that state clearly to move to higher ground if there is a series of 1-2 sec burst. This USUALLY occurs after a seismic shock 3-4 . It triggers warning on every island.
That’s means Hawaiians routinely run to higher ground. They fear trunamis- not fires. I personally got in my car several times a driven till the traffic jammed… the abandoned the car got as high and as fast as I could .
That said.. poor maintenance of some high tension lines were probably responsible.. if not made it worse. This time itworked exactly the opposite
Just wanted you’uns to know what those sirens usually mean.

As a weather nut/natural disasters nut, I hate all the finger pointing in the immediate aftermath of an event. Mother nature is going to do what she wants, and it's common for communication to break down, especially if whatever natural disaster is occuring isn't something that is common in that area. I think your points are fair for the people blaming the EMA and lack of warnings, etc, but that's unrelated to the OP.
I didn’t study that daily insult… it just pisses me off for the uninformed media on both sides that the when those sides go off … you are raised from birth to seek high ground. I haven’t heard a soul mention that… and since it was a Hawaii related thread

As someone in the business of responding to disasters like this fire, the original post had to do with Biden's claim that their "experts" were on the ground before the fires. Now, this could be a typical Biden lie, or it could be that those "experts" just happened to be there on vacation in an unfortunate coincidence. Do I think there's a conspiracy and the Feds caused the fire? No. But, most disasters like this don't have prepositioned assets on the ground. It's easy for hurricanes, but most of this stuff just happens then responders react.
That's one of gheyter's primary techniques. Give a detailed rebuttal to in response to a totally different and/or irrelevant point.
