Hinton @ Western Christian

Bcmoore's #5 vs. #7 teams face off in Hull. Big game for the D1 playoff race. Winner of this one will have the upper hand for the 1 seed in D1.

West Branch @ Bellevue

Bellevue is 4-0, but have yet to play anyone with more than 1 win. Can they stay perfect against West Branch? Doubtful.

You are right. Bellevue has not played anyone with more than 1 win. Given the teams they've played have combined for a record of 1-11.
West Branch's opponents are 9-7 if my math is right. Don't sleep on the Comets. Kilburg and the older Daugherty kid can play and Mason Lyons is a beast!

Definitely a big game in Hull with Hinton. Homecoming for the Wolfpack. I do agree that the winner here has the early upper hand, but I do think West Lyon has been the best team in D1 so far this year. Any of these 3 could make a deep run in the playoffs, just too bad only 2 of them will get a chance. That makes these regular season games HUGE!

It will be interesting to see how the "wild cards" shake out...all 3 of these teams could still make it. Lots of uncertainty that will create intrigue. :D

From the state site:

7. District AlignmentClasses 3A, 2A, 1A and A: 7 districts apiece with 8 teams in each district. District champion and District runner-up would automatically qualify and 2 “wild card” teams would be qualify based on set criteria.

Criteria for Determining “wild card” Selection
a. Anyone who is considered a district champion (anyone in a 3 or 4 way tie)
b. District record
c. Head to head competition (District or non-district)
d. Tie Breaker Point Differential +/- 17
e. Alphabetical Draw each year- For 2016 we will start with the letter “K” K through Z and then A through J.

8. The 17-point tiebreaker system is the difference in score between Team A and Team B. EXAMPLE: (Team A--20, Team B- 3. Team A gets plus 17 points and Team B gets minus 17 points.) Seventeen points is the maximum number of positive or negative points that a team may receive. This replaces the 13-point tiebreaker previously used.

It will be interesting to see how D1 looks at the end of the year. The next three weeks are HUGE.
