Interesting SC West a .500 4a team and playing without its leading scorer beat #5 3a Spirit Lake.
There is a very large gap between the 4A's and the 3A's. The 3A's don't want to here it though.
BCMoore #15 in 4A Newtown beat BCMoore #14 in 3A by 30 last week.

I guess I don't understand why that's worth pointing out. Simply based on enrollment differences...shouldn't there be a large gap? I mean in pretty much every state in the nation, that's going to be the case when comparing the biggest class to the second biggest class. Now, I will say the bottom 4A teams I've seen this year are pretty bad, just as bad as bad 3A teams. But, the top 4A teams should beat any 3A team by a comfortable margin.

In another thread it is pointed out that in the 3A substate 4 the eight 3A teams have (as of a week ago) 24 wins over 4A teams. Of course there is a difference between 4A and 3A, but in basketball it is not nearly as great a spread as in football, where the spread is huge, and numbers really matter. The top five or ten 4A are pretty hard for any 3A team to beat, but in the last fifteen years the 3A state champ has a win over the 4A state champ (during the regular season) a couple of times. But, yeah, if you are going to bet on a game, odds go with the 4A team 80% or more of the time.
