I have been battling getting over shingles ( what a pain) so watching any football these last 3-4 weeks was not an option. Feeling better, I ventured out debating on the Ankeny vs Jefferson or Hoover vs Central of Council Bluffs. With the hope of seeing Duggan play I opted on CBLC.
I was late arriving and Hoover was up 7-0 and Duggan was watching from the sidelines but soon was inserted into the game. He has really matured since watching him a few times last year, the kid has jets and a cannon along with great touch. I think Ankeny and CBLC play next week, that one should be interesting with Duggan back behind Center. Last night he threw deep hitting the receivers in stride, threw darts over the middle and ran 70 yards in a blink. I left the game wanting more!
Hoover's Jarrett also looked good and Hoover offensively is fun to watch. Jarrett can fling it around with the best of them, I see from quik stats that he has some very impressive numbers and is one of the top passer in 4A,, after seeing him live I can see why. Last night Jarrett was under immense pressure all night from another one of my favorite players from last year (Theobald) from Central. I think he had 3 sacks and lived in the backfield and was close on a handful of others. I also noted Theobald played both ways most of the night, some nice blocking from the H-Back.
It's great to get of the "Disable List" and back to the "active" can play list, I have a new appreciation for ones health and look forward to seeing games each week. Look forward to see Dowling again with their new National Ranking but will wait for the playoffs. Also a shout out to Johnston, the Dragons are breathing fire.
