This is a classic example of throwing away the game plan and taking matters into your hands forgetting about team play. A great opportunity squandered which could be the last hoorah for Fort Maddy for a long time. Good luck to Williamsburg.

From what I hear, this was suppose to be THE year. It just goes to show.....nothing is a guarantee.

You mean by the coaches or the players or both? What happened?

Sounds to me like you are upset with the coaches and a player or players. From the game I saw it was a classic and 1 or 2 shots here or there and FM is going to state. Not sure what your view is..... Williamsburg hit a shot to win, FM did not lose it...Be proud of what they accomplished over the last 2 years....and BTW I am not from Fort Madison, I just like the way Miles plays.

Without knowing exactly what wpdrunk is talking about, I just hope it isn't a slam on Wentzien because if anything he's too unselfish, almost to a fault. I thought there were several games this year where he deferred too much.

I never saw the game but listened to the radio call. It sounded as if Fort Madison had a lot of turnovers, especially in the last quarter and a half, forcing the ball to the basket way too soon after setting up the offense. Double and triple teaming on Wenzien occasionally resulting in a turnover/blocked shot. Granted Wenzien made his free throws on the foul calls, but no one makes all of them. It was pretty simple, Schlabaugh took a page out of Grinnell's play book from last year and it paid off for Williamsburg.
