170- Duke Egli (39-1):
- lost by SV dec. (5-3 OT) to Bowman (North Scott, Eldridge)

Will wrestle in Consolation semifinal vs Brady Letney (46-6, Pleasant Valley)

195- Riley Prescott (29-16):
- lost by maj. (13-3) to Andersen (Southeast Polk)

Will wrestle for 7th place vs Casey Becker (37-13, Cedar Rapids, Prairie)



Anyone know what happened in Egli's match with Bowman? Sounded like some controversy at the end there as to whether Bowman should've been awarded the takedown to win.
 
Results from the final day at state:

106- Birnbaum (37-9) lost by pin to Uthoff (32-9) to finish 8th at State.

170- Egli (41-1) won by dec., 6-0 over Letney (46-8); won by ID over Fuller (52-2, SC North) to finish 3rd at State

195- Prescott (29-17) lost by maj., 12-0 to Becker (38-13) to finish 8th at State.


Dodgers finished 20th in the 3A team standings with 30 points.
 
i know this is many years ago, but in the late 60,s.....fort dodge was a force in wrestling....the had one of the better programs in the state then......

Were those the days of Mallinger and Zuspann? Didn't they have a Monster HWT too?
