so...did Gehlen play their JV last week against westwood? Or was the SW Valley win over CBSA the biggest upset in years?
A bit of half truths. Wapsie dropped a TD pass early, then turned it over on downs the next play. Dropped an interception a couple plays later. and fumbled at the GR goal late in the 4th. Wind/Cold effected wapsie more than GR i'd say. Arm strength of GR QB and the hands of their receivers , which was the difference between GR finishing drives and wapsie not, imo. Could have easily been 17-14 game either way, though. Teams were evenly matched.
GRs big play offense was limited last night. They won that game by pounding the ball. Something they haven’t done much of this year. They played into WV strength and still won. All year their defense bends and the opposing team, more times then not makes a mistake. Hats off to the GR staff on making adjustments the last few weeks in the running game.
