MMC-RU takes home its first championship as a single school next year. The junior class will be hungry for their own ring after watching MMC do it this year.

I would guess they go to class A with a tough West Lyon squad in their district.

Look for DNH, Underwood, and South Central Calhoun (will be close for ssc) to move to 2A.

Western Christian will be right at the cut line of 2A as well.

AP and Tipton might drop to 1A

Does A-P have any small church schools that go through grade 8 then the kids go to High School similar to Crestwood, New Hampton, or South Winn. There always seems to be more kids in the high school than any other grade?

Also I do not see MMC-RU being a power in 11 man football, look what happened to Armstrong Ringstead and North Sentral Kossuth when they merged you had 3 really good 8 man programs that couldn't do anything in 11 man, I know it can be based upon talent in the grades, but there is a big difference in talent between good 11 man teams and good 8 man teams. I time if there enrollment numbers stay somewhat steady they could start competing but I don't see it right away.

These are last years numbers by grade, you would look at 8th-10th grade

But these are last year's numbers. They may give us an idea of what classes might look like, but this won't be 100% accurate and would be a complete guess at this point in time.

The IHSAA will use the 9, 10 & 11 grade students as reported on Oct. 1 of this current school year. That information hasn't been posted anywhere that I've found yet.

This is correct, but you could compute the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades to get an educated guess at next years beds#s.

I agree with usfhawk. I've been using the previous year's 8-10 numbers for over a decade and for smaller school districts, it's fairly accurate. Large changes in rural/non-suburban enrollment is rare. If you went to a 3A school or smaller, you remember the novelty of a new kid in your grade or the void of someone moving away.
