Thoughts on this game? It will be a nearly 3 hour ride for Earlham. BC has the Saints as a two score favorite at 12.64.

Can Swalla find enough production against the Saints defense? Any score predictions? Should be a physical game.

To stop the wishbone, you have to be very disciplined. Do your assignment, control your gap, have certain players mirror a particular running back/quarterback and not fall for fakes. Easier said than done if a team is really good at it and carries out their fakes.

How DO you defense the Wishbone?
Blitz to blow it up early?
(Not a world class defensive mind here.)

the bone can be played multiple ways Doc. Some blitz to disrupt timing and pulling, some widen ends and backers to force everything inside to a stud MLB and some plug gaps and force it to bounce to utilize speed and force it to go side to side. IMO best way to stop earlham is force everything inside, widen the ends, and teach your D line to chase tight and fast to pulling guards and tackles. You need to get a bone offense is second and long

I’d say saint ansgar is the favorite here. Just because I’m in northern Iowa and haven’t seen Earlham play. With Earlham being that close to BGM for most of the game it’s hard to think they can beat SA but you never know.

Earlham controls and wears the clock down well, as does St. A. it will be a quick fast pace moving game

It’s like this every year guys. Two schools always get screwed in a quarterfinals matchup. Quik example 1 vs 2 played in the quarters in 2012. Everyone can’t have a cake walk to the dome lol

you wish the bracket was divided better. Both of these teams seem to be far better than north tama and woodbury central

I don't really know how anyone can say that....unless you are an Earlham homer. Both Woodbury Central and North Tama have a higher RPI than Earlham.

Earlham fans shouldn't be worrying about teams who have no control of their fate. Earlham should be worrying about STA and what they are going to do to stop that rushing attack.

My guess would be that they are going to try and tackle the ball carrier

It snowed 3 inches in st ansgar last night and is snowing more currently. Judging by the forecast for tomorrow and friday, none of it will melt. Not sure what they have to get the show off the field. They should have plenty of time to get the field ready, but field conditions may be less than optimal.

Remains me of a certain game from a few moons ago.....in Lyons, IA. But I digress

Snow football is, was, and always will be. The Best

So I have recently seen a snapchat of what Saint Ansgars football field was like earlier and holy snow lol. Whoever attends that game and plays in that game it will be a once in a lifetime type game ENJOY IT. Honestly am jealous of the two schools getting to playing in that.

I was in St Ansgar earlier today and they had a ton of people on the field getting snow off as it was snowing more...they had put a pretty good dent in it so I’m sure they will have it looking good by Friday night!

Just drove by the field myself. It looks great. With temps getting in the low 30s tomorrow the field conditions will not be a concern at all.
