Gary Swenson playing some psychological games by taking some of the pressure off of his kids or actually conceding defeat before the game? Is Dowling really THAT good? I've only seen them play once (MC22 game against Xavier) and I wasn't terribly blown away.

always better to under-promise and over-deliver vs. the alternative.

Swenson is smart, he knows there is a good chance these two teams will meet again down the road and so he is setting this game up for what it is - two good football programs preparing themselves for district play and the playoffs.

Let the media handle the hype machine.

I've been following HSFB since 2006 and know that Swenson has done this many times before. He knows that anything you say in the newspaper can and will be used against you so its better to sound too humble then too cocky.
