District/Substrate vs Regional

What is point of the boys association using districts and then substates for some classes and just substates for 4A, and having 2/3 times as many bracket documents, when they could just use 8 regions like the girls association? Just seems overly complicated for no good reason

Not sure, but it's potentially a combination of "that's how we've always done it" and giving teams in larger classes another accomplishment to shoot for.

I'm not disagreeing with your general sentiment, but the district/substate thing is simply nomenclature that, as I see it, doesn't really increase administrative requirements.

Idk. It just looks stupid to have an entire downloadable file simply to display a 2 team "bracket." 2 districts plus the substate game could all fit into one page and be much easier to understand
