We all know District 9 is going to be won by Lewis Central. How are others thinking this district will shape out? Can they get 1 or possibly 2 "at large" teams out of the district for the Class 3A playoffs?

At least right now, it appears Lewis Central is going to win the district. I see Harlan and potentially even ADM getting an "at large" playoff spot.

Harlan
Lewis Central
Winterset
Glenwood
ADM, Adel
Creston-O/M

Creston pulled the upset over ADM. That definitely plays into the top tier of the standings.

creston win over adm was a surprise, adm played good against harlan. lewis central will win it in d9, harlan should get in too i suspect. ..not sure about anyone eles

Anyone know what Duggan's plans are? Not talking about the player...talking about the coach.

I'd think he would be interested in being part of his sons college career and seeing what LC was like prior to his arrival, his departure would be a giant hit to the program.

No doubt Harlan will be in as they are still very solid.

ronsss sees them play in person, so he would know more.

Harlan has an efficient passing game. Their QB leads Class 3A in passing yards and passing TD's on the season. The only issue is that Harlan can not always run, so that might come into play if they have a poor weather game.

Agreed, they are always solid. They seem to be in the end of year conversations every year. What weapons do they have this year?

Harlan found that out last Friday-Ouch-beatdown by 30 plus to Lewis Central. Bladt was quoted as saying LC's Duggan was the best QB he has seen in 40 plus years. As far as Duggan's dad's (Jim's) plans it looks like Max could redshirt @ TCU year #1. If that's the case no need to sit around Ft Worth. The general thought is Jim will coach at least 1 more year at Lewis Central, and they will have some players again in'19. From that point on-dealer's choice. I know one thing, I'm not quite sure how Jim Duggan was left off the top 50 Iowa all time coaches. What is his head to head record with Coach Bladt??

To be Clear Coach Bladt deserves every honor and is a tremendous coach. I just feel Duggan was shafted. He has won a championship or two and has competed at all levels.
