District 3 best in state?

This district has 2 of the final 4 teams in the Semis. They probably could have 3 if NH would of traveled to Albia. Because i believe they could easily handle Albia. The district will have 2 of their teams knocked out by another team in the district And i believe the winner of Beckman and NFV can go into the finals and show the Western side how to really play football like they do in the East.

Are you stupid? Western part of Iowa always is on top of the Eastern part I think you need to get your facts straight

Yes; D3 is the best district in the state. They were predicted to be and proved it. Very strong district and should continue that into next season as well.

how did they get 2 teams in the final 4? District one had to play each other in all 3 rounds! If they paired them by ranking, there would be 3 teams in the final 4 from district one

I really don't see NH easily handling Albia. NH is big and strong but their playmakers aren't at an elite level. Plays right into Albia's strength and would be a much better matchup for NH than CMB was.

Yep because rankings are always the best indicator of who the best teams are.

How did they get 2 teams in the semi finals? I don't think any team in district 3 could beat any of the top 3 teams in district 1. But the athletic union morons make district 1 play each other in all 3 rounds to make sure only 1 team can get there

Why did D3 get three in and D1 got one? Because no one wants to live in the bloody northwest part of the state. There are very few 2A teams out there. The state's only option was to have all of you guys play yourselves since you were the ones screaming the last few years about travel distances.

The state's only option was to have all of you guys play yourselves since you were the ones screaming the last few years about travel distances. Proof Please!!! [/B]Im slightly removed from NW IA but not enough to think that Schools from NW IA would pass on playing anyone at anytime across the state travel or not. In my day we had the privilege to travel 3 hours to destroy Missouri Valley for the district title anyone on that team can appreciate the memories. I would even say that teams like CL-GLR West Lyon Sioux Center Spirit Lake would beat most teams in 2a or 1a across the state minus Regina. I was once told by someone who played against one of these teams that the violence that was created during the game was unlike anything they'd experienced. I hope like hell that Sioux Center can run the table and bring another title to this desolate part of the state but to do that this is the schedule they ran CL-GLR twice Clear Lake and then Spirit Lake now the Dome test. The truth is you watch D3 along with the rest of the state you have no idea what goes on in this part of the state just like i dont have any idea what goes on D3 but tread lightly until the chips fall there's a lot of history in this deserted wasteland you call the northwest part of the state.

Nice. Does your teacher know that you are missing your middle school exploratory?

At this point we have the actual results (remaining 4) indicating that D3 is tougher. This can be influenced by the state and their match-ups.

We have also heard that the general rankings show D1 is tougher. Obviously this can be influenced by perception rather than on the field results.

I'll throw in another view - BCMoore rankings, which are typically very accurate.
10 2A-2 ( 15- 11) 149.30 0.278 2.00 2
14 2A-3 ( 17- 12) 147.12 0.244 2.00 2
18 2A-1 ( 15- 8) 144.83 0.234 2.00 2

Do we need to throw D2 into the mix?

I personally still believe D3 is the strongest top to bottom; may not end up having the best team, but top to bottom they were very tough.

Have to go with D-3 obviously....even Waukon left out of the playoffs was leading Beckman 20-8 at halftime in their meeting without their best player (Ronan). New Hampton probably would have won this district with McDonald at QB/S, guessing he would have been the difference in 2 two-point losses to NFV. This district is loaded! Sioux Center has to show up big in the semis...

D2 does not belong in the mix with only having one quarterfinal team. While D1 had 1 and D3 had 2 in semis.

My thoughts too, but definitely interesting how BCMoore has them ranked #1 for 2A.

That comment made me LOL. That said we may see the best team come from that district and it may very well be underrepresented due to match ups.

LOL. Based on what I saw today NH is as good as any team in D1 and D3 is clearly the best in the state.

Did NH play NFV after the big boy became eligible? Could have had a huge impact on both of those games.

FWIW, my top 4 look like this
NFV
SC
CL
SL

And I don't care what side of the state you come from, those were some pretty solid teams, Congrats to all on a great year!

I will second that thought Spooner, but I couldn't laugh today in New Hampton on a day that might have been big for them. Without McDonald, NH still had NFV down 24 7 in the playoffs. Sioux Center probably finishes 3rd in D-3 and even that would be up for debate. Not taking anything away from NFV but we have to be honest if Harris had transferred in to a Catholic school everyone would be whining. So we need to either ease up on Catholic schools or admit it can work both ways. Harris was definitely a factor today, like a skill player Sioux Center had to dictate their defense as to where he lined up. Thanks for all the opinions everyone...have a good offseason! I really have a good feeling we might have a mild winter...

Wait, what?

D3 is by far best in the state. Winning the title. Having another semifinalist and quarter finalists. Both who were knocked out by NFV. Then 4th in the district was the only team in the state who beat NFV. Great District with a lot of depth.
