Curious about the sophomore classes coming up. I know that both Centennial and Dowling went undefeated in 2015. I expect those two teams to be the cream of the crop in 2018 as Centennial had 7 sophomores on varsity to start the season. Those kids never sniffed a sophomore game and they added a good number as the season progressed. 6 sophomore varsity starters on decent playoff team by the end of the year and Dowling.....well it's Dowling.

What's going on with Valley, Waukee, Johnston and SEP?

i'm not sure since that information usually isn't published. I know someone who coaches sophomores and he said something about how SEP and Ankeny have unusually weak sophomores - like how they were both 1-8, 2-7ish.

I kind of wonder about how Waukee will do since they only have a few seasons left to make a mark before they split up around 2021.

I can assure you Centennial's Sophomore's didn't go 1-8 or 2-7 so I hope you're talking about the Hawks. Centennial's Sophomore class is stacked, they went undefeated their freshman year, and did great again this year all while having 7 guys pulled up, not just pulled up but 4-5 of them were starters. Chance Gibbons is the QB who is a soph and he'll start next year for Centennial. Great size, great mechanics, just needs to get quicker.

How many of the sophs mentioned played for the Team Iowa FBU (?) squad that I think were pretty successful on the national scene?

I believe the squad you are referring to are currently freshman.. not sophomores. That team went to the national final four two years in a row.
