and Dowling Catholic football.

Great game to watch last night. Zachary ran with authority (ran for triple the number of Jaguar rushing yards) and that defensive line just ate up Centennial's O-line. Silly penalties for the Maroons made this game closer than it could have been.

anyone here think dowling's special teams tend to be sort of dirty? I find it reprehensible that they try onsiding it when they already lead by a lot.

I find it amusing how little respect Dowling has for their opponents. Great mind game played by their staff. We have such little respect for you that we will give it to you around mid-field and we still know you won't score on us. Great for their swagger and it is deflating for the opposing team to start with such great field position and still can't convert. This tactic is more than likely based on who they play.

Did anyone actually watch the game? Ankeny left the entire middle of the field open on every kick off, Dowling historically kicks it high and short ( also did this several times and got Ankeny to fair catch - no return). On the supposed onside kick, the Dowling kicker hit it hard down the middle, it happened to hit the front line Ankeny player and bounced straight back to Dowling. It was no where near a planned onside kick.

I dislike Dowling as much as everyone else. However, their special teams are example of how well they are coached. They have better players than their opponents and never let let you rest. You have to be prepared for every snap.

How is that dirty? That's just good coaching and taking gambles to win big games. I don't know any player/coach/fan of any team that wouldn't do whatever it took to win championships.

if other teams were doing it on a semi-frequent basis, it wouldn't really faze me, but IDK it seems like it's violating some unwritten rule. Keep in mind that this is even done when up by 3+ TDs.

Whoa whoa whoa I've been watching dowling games for many years and I don't think I've seen more than 1 onside. There has been tons of special teams screw ups by other teams. A pop up kick that a kid drops has happened a bunch. Friday night a 1 in a million kick got drilled off a front line guy for centennial.

Jerry Pezzetti must be the special teams coach. He wanders the sidelines and turns his back on the game, his kick return team wanders on the field and turns their back on the kicks.

You are relentless on your crusades. Is there a good foundation for this one?
