Not a Clemson fan but I think Dabo is a decent guy. That being said this almost sounds like a deep fake.
I suppose with a 4-4 record, give their historical success, he’s feeling the pressure.
Dabo will quickly become a dinosaur if he doesn't embrace NIL.
This. But that was a good response. At some point it’s mathematically impossible for all the top teams to have a great season every year. We’ve been blessed at Bama in that regard. I for one recognize how difficult it is to stay there. Dabo has a point. Bear had some 6 win seasons in the late 60s but turned around and had an amazing run in the 1970s. You can’t be myopic with respect to your program or you turn into a meat grinder where coaches go to get multi million dollar payouts to pack the U-Haul and leave.
Dabo went on and on about expectations vs appreciation but with $11.5 million/year you’re gonna get expectations as a Clemson coach in the weak ass ACC.
You ain’t wrong. He’s gotta hold his nose and board the NIL train like the rest of us.
Clemson has a right to expectations- Dabo needs to live up to all the other multi-championship coaches that have been at Clemson…..and….. what? Oh, he’s the only coach who’s ever delivered multiple championships to Clemson?

Agree with grandstanding and temper tantrum.. I think Dabo has 2x more of a problem with the portal… he’s a Stallings guy. How do you think Bebes would handle the program today?

$11.5 million is the appreciation. And it comes with an expectation.
