Should be a great night of football on Friday! The ark has floated off, so I think the rain is done. Had 4 1/2 inches at my house from Monday morning till Tuesday noon.
Carlisle 48 at Chariton 14 -- Carlisle will dominate. Chariton's not holding up well to the meat of the schedule. This will be the best team Chariton has faced this year. Carlisle has a punishing running game and will roll up the yards on the Chargers. Chariton will have to hope that the field will be soupy so that Carlisle's RBs lose footing.
Knoxville 28 at Oskaloosa 14 -- The Panthers enter the playoffs with a win here. Knoxville is playing well. Defense is playing tough and the running game is clicking. I think it will be a good game, but Knoxville's speed ends up producing some big plays.
Norwalk 28 at ADM, Adel 17 (ND) -- Solid non-district game. Norwalk has made the playoffs and the #3 seed is set. ADM is fighting for playoff life. This game, of course, has no bearing on that, but I would think ADM would really like to pull out a win here to have momentum heading into showdown with Harlan next week for playoff spot. Both teams can throw the ball, but I'm guessing Norwalk has more horses in the trenches on both sides and will pull this out.
Saydel 0 at Pella (Lots of Points) -- If Pella can put up 69 on Newton last week, this week could be worse. I don't think Pella will score that many though as they will sub early, often, and run a vanilla offense. Maybe the game will be closer as the scoreboard operator may get confused as both teams are green and white...
Playoffs:
1. Pella
2. Carlisle
3. Norwalk
4. Knoxville
I think Pella and Carlisle actually both might have a decent chance to get to the dome. Pella may go east and Carlisle may go west in the playoff pairings. I'm sure Carlisle would like another crack at Pella, but if that didn't come till the Uni-dome, that wouldn't break anybody's heart in Carlisle, or probably in Pella either for that matter. Also, I would think Carlisle would like another crack at DCG. I watched that game and I think Carlisle would probably win if they played again.
