Carlisle 28 at Knoxville 7 -- Well, the Panthers didn't come through last week in Fairfield, but made a very exciting game out of it at the end. They don't have the horses to keep up with Carlisle this week. Carlisle is tough and fast.

Chariton 27 at Mount Pleasant 21 (ND) -- Dare I say, Chargers with a 4-0 start? That hasn't happened in a while! The schedule has been kind to Chariton, but you still have to win the games. They have shown they can score. MP is better then they have been last couple of years, but still not very good.

Norwalk 14 at Pella 35 -- This was looked at during the off-season as a marque game for the district title this year, but I don't think Norwalk is quite as good as people were thinking. Lost to both Creston and Carlisle so far. Pella put up Madden type numbers last week, but I think this will be a better game then some people are expecting. Norwalk will be physical and stand toe to toe with the Dutch....for a while.

Oskaloosa 35 at Saydel 13 -- Osky has had a rough year so far. Untimely injuries have happened and they just got physically beat up by Ottumwa and Pella the last two weeks. This is a great week to go to Saydel and get a big W.

District playoff contender predictions:

1. Pella
2. Carlisle
3. Norwalk
4. Chariton

Thanks, fmclone!

Carlisle >> Knoxville by 30: Knoxville making progress, but it won't look like it during Carlisle game.
Charition >> Mt Pleasant by 2 scores....Chariton has the weakest schedule in the universe, but this team also has some good players. Perfect schedule for a young team to mature, but the lack of quality opposition limits overall growth.
Pella >> Norwalk by > 30: Maybe Norwalk is just getting into their groove a little late. Not sure, but didn't expect Norwalk to post a 1-2 record to this point of the season. Pella's run/pass efficiency will be tough to stop. For Norwalk to win they will have to stop Pella and score on Pella. Both will be challenging.
Saydel >> Oskaloosa by 7: Reversed my mind on this one. Osky trying to figure things out, not sure they have found any answers yet, and Saydel looks to be more competitive.
